Despite the heat (it's been ridiculous), we've been getting in all the usual summer fun. Our normal Tuesdays in the park with friends have been somewhat hot, but fun since Joaquin plays with his friends and much more independently of mom! But on our last park trip we saw something really cool. A roadrunner! My parents actually see one like once a year since they apparently live in the arroyo in the park by their house. Joaquin and I have even seen one in their courtyard one time. So Joaquin was well familiar and pointed it out right away. Yeah for our state bird! It was running, first on the road, and then into the park. Nice to know they're still around. Our second summer time activity has been swimming lessons. I'll give those their own blog, but they led to these other cute pictures. Here's Joaquin and his buddy Jane. We took her to swimming lessons one day while her mommy went to the doctor. She and Joaquin had a great time, and then when I took them home and washed them off, they were even cuter. They just went into Joaquin's room and started coloring and doing 'crafts'. Isn't that so grown-up? In the most adorable way possible. :) And one last Joaquin quote "Mommy, Jamie knows how to talk, she just doesn't know any words."
