Yeah for the Balloon Fiesta. You can see we were pretty excited! We went Thursday morning for the special shapes rodeo, just a little on the late side. Turned out to be the perfect morning, it was ridiculously uncrowded. We sailed to the parking lot in a few minutes and then

parked close to the entrance. Once we got in, Joaquin and Daddy took off at a run. I don't blame them, the sight of all those balloons on the ground is really enticing. I think it's because we've all become so color sophisticated, nothing is done in bright primary colors, not even children's stuff. Therefore that many bright

bold colors together is unusual and intoxicating! Aunty Boo-boo came with us and we had a great time roaming amongst the balloons before getting breakfast burritos, cinnamon rolls and hot chocolate. (Sadly I seem to go to all these events mostly for the food.) We als

o attempted to go to a Balloon Glow having never been to one before. This was spurred by a Balloon Fiesta calender we bought at CostCo, it had a picture of the balloons at night. Joaquin was enchanted and so begged to go. Unfortunately we sat in traffic for a long time and then found it was cancelled. But we were close by in a field when the fireworks show began so we had a lovely view of that. We stopped and watched, Joaquin sitting on a construction barrel. :)
