Que Linda

 I'm not a good photographer, but some days just make you want to take photos.  Eliana was so cute and happy playing and then I noticed her pajamas and toys matched. It's like we planned it, but no, happy accident.  These funny, lopsided, crinkly faces are her happy, busy faces.

Gateando

And we have a crawler! As of 9/28/12 Eliana is officially mobile! This particular video is actually her first real crawling moment, I noticed she was looking like she was about to crawl and called for a camera, and magic happened.  So here it is, Eliana's first forward crawl.  She's been doing it a lot since then, although never really farther than two feet.  Still, forward motion yee-haw!

I guess tiling with Daddy got a little boring, so Joaquin became a fountain. :)  This little kidlet is a constant source of goofiness.

Bajo el Ropero

 Miss Eliana is super active lately.  She hasn't managed to crawl yet, but we are working on it, constantly!   You can see evidence of this in her figure.  She's still under 20 lbs and looking slimmer than just a month ago.  Notice she can still wear this cute kitty shirt from Aunt Georgina.  I'm super excited that she's calmed down in the growing department since we have 9 month fall clothing that I want to put her in! Okay, back to the point of this blog.  She can do all sorts of stuff, just started sitting up from being on her tummy.  However moving towards something is still beyond her.  She pushes herself up and tries to move forward, but always scooches backward.  ALWAYS! This makes her frequently very frustrated and angry, and often results in some funny situations.  Since her feet are low to the ground and small, she can slide into places backward that she wouldn't fit into forwards.  In these particular photos, she managed to wedge herself under her dresser.  I fully expected a fit to ensue, but this smile came because Joaquin got down and imitated her.  Everything is better if brother is doing it!  He makes everything funny and Eliana happy.  Makes me wish I had a big brother!

Ropa, ropa, ropa

So, a short fashion blog.  Here's two of our favorite summer outfits (somehow not previously featured).  This little red and gray outfit is very adorable and part of the Harijuku Mini collection at Target.  Which is worth noting because every time she wears it Daniel says Harijuku Mini in a weird voice like 18 times.  And then this little sundress is so adorable that I'm hoping she can still wear it next summer (just as a short dress!)   And finally, I love this sleeper! I don't know why it's so cute to me, maybe the ruffles.  But she looks ridiculously sweet in it.  And curled up in her little pink and white blankets, sleepy and snuggly, wearing this sleeper, she is possibly the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.

Casa Durmiente

 Between her own reluctance to nap and trying to adjust to Joaquin's school schedule, sometimes we're tired.  This is a quick catnap taken during our Labor Day picnic, it's apparently exhausting to hang out in Mommy's arms.  We're working on it though, I got brave and started letting her cry for awhile and now I can set her down for her nap and walk away.  She cries for a little bit and...... (wait for it)..... goes to sleep!  Amazing!  Admittedly they're always very short naps, but a schedule that I can predict is an amazing thing.  Thank you sweet girl.  But to prove that Eliana isn't the only sleepyhead in our house, here's a picture of Daddy 'watching' the baby.  Notice she's safely contained by his legs, but while she explores Daddy gets a nap.  I keep checking on them to make sure they were okay (and of course take a picture), but they hung out for like 20 minutes before Eliana demanded Daddy's full attention.

Locomoción

This is Eliana's famous scrunchie face.  She has a scrunchie smile as well - even cuter- but less funny.  I think this lopsided look actually comes from teething pain, but now it's become her signature.  She's also seriously working on locomotion.  This is difficult because she will only roll around on the floor and play (which is what you need to practice) when mommy will sit there with her.  Mommy insists on doing things like laundry and that really cramps her style.  She's been rolling around like a champ for a while now, but we want to move on to bigger and better things!  She pushes herself up and tries to go for things, but imagine her distress to discover that she ends up scooching backward.  It's so discouraging to be looking at what you want to get to and go farther away from it the more you try to get close.  As you can imagine this results in a lot of tears.  But yesterday we made it up onto knees and hands so hopefully we are making progress.
